Terms of use and sale
Last updated 29 October 2026
These terms apply when you use delayowed.com and when you buy a claim letter pack. Please read them before you buy.
Who we are
DelayOwed is run by Paul Hunter-Rowe, trading as DelayOwed, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. Postal address: available on request from hello@delayowed.com. Email: hello@delayowed.com.
What DelayOwed is, and isn't
DelayOwed is a self-help tool. The free checker gives a general indication of whether you may be owed compensation under UK261 or EU261, based on the information you enter. The letter pack gives you letters to send to the airline yourself.
- We are not a law firm or a claims management company, and we don't give legal advice. We don't contact airlines, make claims or act for you.
- We can't guarantee that an airline will pay. Results depend on the facts of your flight, on information only the airline has (such as the cause of the delay), and on how airlines, regulators and courts apply the law.
- The checker is only as accurate as what you enter. Please check your flight details, especially arrival times, against your booking or the airline.
- We're not affiliated with any airline. Airline names are used only to describe which flights a guide or letter covers.
The claim letter pack
The pack costs £7.99 (UK261 claims) or €8.99 (EU261 claims), shown before you pay. That is the total price; there are no extra charges and we take no share of your compensation. Payment is taken by Stripe when you place your order, and the contract is made when payment succeeds.
The pack is digital content, available as soon as payment succeeds, in the same browser tab. It contains a claim letter, a follow-up letter, an escalation letter, a timeline and a calendar file, all filled in with the details you provide. It's for your own personal use for the flight you checked.
Your pack details are kept only in your browser tab. Print, copy or save your letters before you close the tab; we can't recover them for you. If you lose them, email us with your payment email address and we'll help.
Your right to cancel
You normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. Because the pack is digital content supplied straight away, before you pay we ask you to agree that it can be supplied immediately and to confirm that you understand you then lose this right to cancel. If you don't agree, you can't buy the pack.
If something is wrong
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or your country's consumer law, still apply: the pack must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it isn't, email hello@delayowed.com and we'll fix it or, if we can't, give you a refund.
Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We aren't responsible for loss or damage that isn't foreseeable, for an airline's decision not to pay, or for missing a time limit to claim. We don't exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Using the site
You may use the site and its guides for your own claims. Please don't copy the site, scrape it in bulk, or use the letters commercially, for example to make claims for other people for a fee.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the version shown when you buy applies to that purchase. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country and can bring proceedings there.
